"Let Your Life Speak", by Parker J. Palmer
  • Every wonder if you’re planted in the wrong soil? That you could be more fulfilled by the work you do?
  • The idea of “Purpose” is bar-none one of the most essential elements needed for one’s happiness in life and work. And since we work a majority of our lives, it just makes sense that we also seek fulfillment in the work we do.
  • Parker Palmer’s “Let Your Life Speak” is one book I recommend to just about anyone I can reach. It conveys a message of finding purpose in one’s vocation, finding one’s calling by examining what is important. And looking to the end instead of the beginning.
"Geography of Bliss: One Grumps Search for the Happiest Places on Earth", by Eric Weiner
  • Why are some people happier than others? Is it genetic? The “hand we are dealt?” Or is it a cultural thing? • Eric Weiner, the author of this book, explore just that idea. By traveling around the world (not a bad gig, by the way) and investigating culture after culture, Eric finds that happiness truly is both a choice and a cultural phenomenon.
"The Leadership Challenge", by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner
  • Did you know that out of over 200 leadership qualities the top four which emerge consistently among over a million people from around the world are, in order: Honesty, Competence, Inspiring, and forward-thinking. Imagine! If you could just be those four things (especially honest!) all of the time, you will be a highly influential leader.
  • By far one of the best and more useful books on leadership anywhere, and I particularly like this book because I firmly believe in proven results. Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, for over 25 years have interviews over one million people world-wide to find out what are people doing when they are leading at their very best. The authors find five very true and influential principles of leadership: Modeling the Way; Inspiring a Shared Vision; Challenging the Process; Enabling others to Act; and Encouraging the Heart. Together, these represent the five practices of exemplary leadership, and oh, are they right...
